This is where life change happens.

Life is about feeling our feelings, processing our experiences, overcoming hurdles and truly LIVING our lives in abundance.  These elements contribute to living in the present with our whole hearts.  My practice is called LIVE TRUE. I am always being lured to living true. To myself. To others. And to an abundant life. The Live True motto: Summoning strength and beauty. Igniting courage and compassion. May we all pursue what it means to truly LIVE! Lindsay Wills offers individual, couples and group counseling. Specialties include single mothers, teenagers, divorce, grief, loss, trauma, relationships, life transitions and career-related issues.

Individual &  Couples Counseling Services

Woking one-on-one within the context of a therapeutic relationship can be an important piece of one's individual journey.  Not only can it offer insight and healing, it can be a catalyst for change. Feeling heard and understood. Accessing tools for listening to one's self.  Practicing gratitude. Improving communication.  Exploring action steps.  All these elements can truly be transformational.  I have found this "healing space" to be paramount in my own life as both a a client and as a counselor.

Group Counseling & Retreats

Having a sense of belonging while walking life's journey with others is an empowering and necessary part of the human experience.  It fuels us to break new ground in our lives.  I offer group counseling in the following areas: single mothering, new mothers and divorce.  Group sizes include a minimum of four and a maximum of eight members.  Retreat experiences are also offered. In 2020, Live True offered a retreat for women seeking to find freedom from past relationships, entitled Release and will continue offering this powerful three day retreat in the future.

Consultation & Speaking

I offer consultation services for businesses, organizations and churches.  Areas of expertise include authentic leadership, single parenthood, divorce, relational authenticity and intimacy, grief, loss, trauma, resilience and teen issues. In addition, I offer speaking and (large) group motivational services.  Such work has been part of my professional background for nearly 20 years.  I use colorful, inspiring and descriptive language as I share about my passions, research and life experience.  In 2019, my writing appeared in Grand Traverse Woman Magazine where I served as the featured speaker. Additionally, the Fulfillament series offered me the opportunity to share about life/work fulfillment in Traverse City. I am currently in the process of writing my first book and was recently selected as a TEDx Traverse City Pitch finalist.

About Me

I hold my Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and received my Master of Arts degree in Counselor Education from Western Michigan University. The program is accredited through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and related Education Programs (CACREP). Additionally, I am a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist and a Nationally Board Certified Counselor.

I enjoy working with a variety of clients, including teens and adults of all ages, with whom I offer a safe environment to share one's story and explore steps towards positive processing and change. I seek to be empathetic, personable, non-judgmental and genuine in my interactions. The primary lens I utilize in my counseling is Narrative Therapy, which explores the client's current story and assists with reframing the story in order to bring about a more positive perspective. When we are able to reframe, we are able to become empowered with new ideas, new choices and new ways of looking at our life. In additional to Narrrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems Theory is an approach that I am passionate about as I assist clients in processing multiple relational traumas.
